This photograph was taken at the Gavatala Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a reserved forest where leopards, and occasionally even tigers, can be sighted. However, the true uniqueness of this forest lies in its abundance of medicinal plants. A highway runs right through the middle of the forest, which sees regular traffic throughout the day, but it is closed after 7 p.m.
I visit this forest often. In summer, due to water scarcity, water is filled in a small waterhole inside the forest. As a result, various birds and animals come here regularly to drink. After a few days of observation, I noticed that monkeys leap from tree to tree, and sometimes directly across the edges of the waterhole. Capturing this unusual and thrilling moment became my goal.
To achieve this, I set up a small tripod in the middle of the waterhole, carefully concealing it with branches. I then prepared to capture the shot using a remote control. For fifteen to twenty days, I persisted in my attempts, waiting for the perfect moment.
And then, that day finally arrived — a monkey leapt from a tree directly over the water, appearing as if it was about to land right on me. My camera was ready, and in that very instant, I captured this image — a rare, thrilling, and unforgettable masterpiece in my photographic journey.
