This series adopts a typological gaze on an unfinished theater. Exposed concrete, scaffolding, and silent tiers of seating suspend the space between promise and desolation. In dialogue with Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Theater series where light embodies performance, but these images present only silence and void.
Yet the work speaks beyond form, revealing an absurd reality.Hasty urban construction resembles an endless, absurd play, reflecting the excess, stagnation, and emptiness embedded in contemporary building.
